The People’s Piazza: A History of Covent Garden will be broadcast on BBC Two on Sunday 13 November. Presented by David Olusoga, the documentary is a companion-piece to Storytrails, focusing on the hidden and untold stories of one of England’s best-known public spaces, the Covent Garden Piazza, and employing new virtual production techniques to bring different historical periods to life. Olusoga walks back in time to explore its tumultuous history and, with the help of a host of experts and eye-witnesses, conjures up the ghosts of the past – market traders, orphans, sex workers and activists.
