John Hill and Lisa Kerrigan of the British Film Institute presented the results of a survey, conducted in association with the Media Studies Commission of FIAT/IFTA, of academic archival access and forms of research collaboration undertaken by members of Fédération Internationale des Archives de Télévision / The International Federation of Television Archives FIAT/IFTA.
The presentation identified the main obstacles to academic collaboration and archival access and made the case for the enhancement of relationships between television archives and higher education institutions. The presentation and survey followed on from the ‘Archives, Access and Research’ conference co-hosted by the Forgotten Television Drama project in February 2017.
